Starts the 3rd edition of the International 'Journalists of the Mediterranean'

Starts the 3rd edition of the International “Journalists of the Mediterranean”. The award is organized by the "Land of the Mediterranean", in partnership with Europuglia, a portal for the promotion of activities and projects of the Mediterranean Department of Puglia Region, and sponsored by Rai Social Action Department; the Councillor Mediterranean Culture Tourism and the Puglia Region, Province of Bari, Bari Municipality and the Consular Corps of Puglia, Basilicata and Molise, and Italian universities, cultural centers and regional institutions, national and international.


Starts the 3rd edition of the International 'Journalists of the Mediterranean'
The competition will be divided into four sections: economics and international politics, women and social integration; prisons and Humanitarian Law, Religious tourism and promote the area. The works are to prevent not later than the 12th April, 2011.

So, the 3rd edition takes shape after the exploits of his first edition in 2009, with over 100 journalists from Italy, Albania, Portugal, Turkey and Romania, and that of 2010 which also includes candidates and winners, journalists from major national and international magazines such as Panorama, Ansa, Rai News24, La7, Rete 4, TGR Rai, Il Messaggero, La Stampa, L'Espresso.

“We wanted to give priority to social issues because - says Tommaso Forte, journalist and creator of the competition - where culture, religion and ideology are mixed today in the virtual world, we believe absurd barriers to cohesion and coexistence among men in the real world” . “Even this year - added the President of the jury Lino Patruno - the premium has been to prioritize social issues, in line with the spirit in which it is established and the conviction that the future of the Mediterranean countries and its games are also on the land of tolerance, inclusion, human rights”.

During the event Gino Falleri reporter Assistant Secretary of the National Press Federation, Giuseppe De Tomaso director of the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, Father Gianfranco Grieco reporter for the "L'Osservatore Romano "during the Pope Paul VI governor and John Paul II will receive the "Caravella of the Mediterranean". Memorial Award to Peter Virgintino, journalist and film critic for “The Resto of Carlino”.
