The International University of Monaco (IUM), set in one of the world's leading financial centers, celebrated the graduation of its students into the global business world on June 20, 2009.
Nearly 112 students from 42 different countries were present at the Opera House of Monte Carlo in the prestigious Salle Garnier. Thirty-three students were awarded a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, along with 22 Masters in Finance, 27 MBAs, 3 Executive MBAs, and 27 MSc in Luxury Goods and Services, a much sought after and exclusive diploma.
As well as providing first-class curricula, the University prides itself on creating a truly entrepreneurial environment for its students. As the world faces a global financial crisis, the business world needs people who are unique. IUM guides its students to become innovators, people with genuine business acumen and instinct, those who don't follow but lead.
As every year, the Valedictorian award was given to the best student of each degree program. An elegant unique Parmigiani timepiece was awarded by M. Jean-Marc Jacot, CEO of this Haute Horlogerie watch manufacture to the student who won the new Best Spirit Award.
Graduation day was a truly proud moment for President Crener, as he congratulated another cohort of students destined to become some of the world's top business people. Because of the small size of the University he knows each student individually.
After the glamorous graduation ceremony the students and their families enjoyed a cocktail in the Opera Yard in the sunshine overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, before getting ready for a well-earned Gala Dinner and Show at the Salon Méditerranée, Le Meridien Beach Plaza, Monte-Carlo. Over 700 people attended this truly memorable event.
